Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Dentist showing patient dental insurance forms

Most dental insurance plans are focused on helping patients with routine treatments like checkups and cleanings so they can largely avoid common dental problems. Thankfully, many also provide benefits for dentures, though not at the same level as preventive procedures. In general, however, dental insurance can help a patient save hundreds of dollars on a denture, allowing many people to regain their smile.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

Dentures are normally considered restorative dentistry, which typical dental insurance plans cover about 50%. Beyond this, insurance can also be used to pay for services associated with getting dentures, such as X-rays, exams, consultations, and extractions. Depending on the policy, patients can sometimes use their insurance to pay for ongoing denture maintenance, such as repairs and relines, but be sure to check the details of your particular benefits before expecting a service to be covered.

Our In-Network PPO Dental Insurance Providers

When The Denture Center is “in-network” with a dental insurance plan, this basically means we have a contract with a certain provider to offer our services for set fees. The provider then covers a portion of these fees. In most cases, choosing a dental office that is in-network with your plan is the best way to save as much as possible on your denture while still enjoying the best quality care. You’ll find a list of our accepted plans below, but be sure to give us a call even if you don’t see your provider—we may still be able to work with your plan!
